The Second Bonne Terre Mine Expedition was on March 27, 1999.
The Mine is located in Bonne Terre, Missouri; about an hour Southwest of St. Louis in the foot hills of the Ozark Mountains. The team this time only included Chuck and I. The expedition was geared to bring Chuck up to speed and give him an overview of the mine logistics. We stayed at the Park & Allen Lodge. It's basically a bunk house with few amenities. It was very economical and located right on the mine entrance grounds. I ended up with a bed that sank, a good foot, down in the middle. Although I couldn't roll over at night it was generally quite comfortable. We did manage to hook up the video camera to an old black and white TV in the great room to look over the days dives on Saturday evening. We also found a great little bar/restaurant down the road apiece, on this trip, called the "Shamrock" serving great prime rib along with some good company. We did three dives on Saturday the 27th and one on Sunday the 28th, before starting the eight hour drive back home.
